Make it step by step
- Step 01
Choose crack-free stones without sharp points. Brush grit from the stones and inspect the surface under the sheet.
- Step 02
Fold the sheet edge into a wide strip at least twice. Avoid loading existing tears.
- Step 03
Place padding on the folded edge and set a stone centrally on it with its broad face down.
- Step 04
Lift nearby fabric gently to test. Stop if it slides or a stone rolls. Keep weighted edges out of walkways.
Check before use
No sharp pressure points, rolling stones or flapping edges in the intended conditions.
Limits of this project
Groundsheets only. Never place rocks on a roof or substitute this for high-wind anchoring.
Take down and restore
Lift stones before pulling out the sheet. Pack the padding and restore the site.
All lashings and racks here are for light objects, never people, climbing or rescue.
