Make it step by step
- Step 01
Remove tools, cord, carved scraps and litter. Check that no animal has entered the hole.
- Step 02
Return lower soil in small layers and settle gently without creating large voids or over-compacting the surrounding ground.
- Step 03
Replace saved topsoil and match the original ground level. Avoid a mound or depression that redirects runoff.
- Step 04
Replace original surface cover only as directed. Inspect the area and photograph it for the landowner if agreed.
Check before use
No trip hole, buried cord or blocked original drainage.
Limits of this project
For small authorised practice holes only. Root damage or erosion needs a land manager's assessment.
Take down and restore
Report subsidence or incomplete restoration and remove all equipment.
All lashings and racks here are for light objects, never people, climbing or rescue.
